I stayed up until 2 a.m. reading Jennifer Crusie’s new book, “Bet Me.” I would have stayed up later, but my Prince Charming got up and asked why in the world was I still up at 2 a.m.? So I went to bed.

I woke up at 7 a.m. and although I really truly considered going back to bed after Prince Charming went to work, I picked up the book. I finished it by 10 a.m., just in time for the kids to wake up.

Excellent book. I just really, really like her books. I enjoy them as a reader, just to read. But I still get surprised by the depth of her talent as a writer. Like when she is describing her character’s mother who was nagging Min yet again….

“Min crossed the thick gold carpet and detoured around the dark-haired bundle of exasperation that had given birth to her.”

What a great description.
