Driving Dreams

I woke up around 5 this morning after having a dream about my oldest daughter driving.

Autumn was driving a school bus, and I was a passenger. She was an experienced driver, and I was OK with her driving. At least I was until her Walkman caught on fire.
But
Yes, she was listening to a Walkman and not an MP3 player. I don’t know why. The effect was the same — she had her ears plugged by headphones.

And technically, something from around the steering wheel caught on fire, and it caught the Walkman on fire. But Autumn didn’t react to the steering wheel catching on fire. Her big thing was that her Walkman was on fire.

I had to remind her to pull the bus over before she tried to put out the fire. We then drove to the repair shop, which is when I woke up.

So why am I dreaming about my daughter driving buses and catching her music player on fire?

She started driver’s training today.

For the next three weeks, she will be attending two-hour classes and doing BTW training, which took me a moment to figure out stands for behind-the-wheel training.

Her first time behind the wheel starts tomorrow. She is not taking her Zune with her.

behind-the-steering wheel, makes more since then what I was thinking. BTW ,by the way, you cannot do this or do that. I wish I still had that article you sent me when I got my drivers license. Maybe I can find Reader’sDigest archives online.

I am so glad I have a few more years. Not many though. But at Keith’s and my age we may have dementia by then and not know what they are doing.
