My feet ache. My throat is sore, and I went to bed at 8:14 p.m. last night, which is unheard of for me.
Yesterday was my first day back at school, and I spent more than 5 hours standing in front of a classroom talking. This isn’t normal for me. I rarely lecture, but on the first day of class, I have to go over the syllabus.
On the positive side, I am teaching in a building halfway across campus, so I will be doing some walking on a regular basis. Part of the walk is up a hill, plus I have step climbing and just a good distance overall.
I also invested in a small fridge for my office, so I can take my lunch to work and hopefully eat smarter. I am also storing lots of water and water bottles in my fridge.
But mostly my poor feet hurt.
Despite the aching feet, it was nice to be back to school. I am looking forward to the rest of the semester, and I am so glad I don’t normally stand up and talk all through class.
