I haven’t been blogging very much, and I blame summer. My life is different in the summer, and I have not always had easy access to the internet despite having wi-fi on my laptop. This is because I have been in areas of Michigan where there hasn’t been wi-fi (or electricity for that matter), and when I do have wi-fi access, I have to use it for work first, which means little to no time to play (except for Facebook).
So what have I been doing?
In June, I went to a conference for a week and then immediately came back and went on vacation for two weeks and that brought us into July. And then I had to figure out what it was like to be home and put everything away, which took a week. And then I was gone again. And I was gone most of last week to spend with hubby before he left this week to work in West Virginia. And now I am home again with a week to once again put my house in order.
You would think the house would be in order because we haven’t been here very much, but when you arrive home after being away, you have lots and lots of things to put away and lots and lots of laundry.
Somewhere in there, I had my 20-year class reunion. I enjoyed myself, and I was glad I went. It was great reconnecting with everyone. I do think, however, that I should have insisted my husband go to the dinner with me. He keeps me in line. I tend to say things without thinking. Nothing horribly bad, but they did make people ask me what I was drinking because apparently people who I went to high school with don’t think I would say those things unless I was drunk. I wasn’t drunk.
I didn’t say anything rude. I just talked about things that happened in the past, but the things I mentioned some spouses weren’t aware of, and I didn’t think the spouses might not know. I have a big mouth and a long memory. Sorry.
And now things seem very slow because Steve is working in West Virginia this week, and I hope he returns home soon.
The rest of the summer is quickly filling up. We will be canoeing the AuSable at the end of the month, dancing at the Red Barn (technically, it is now the Ole Barn), and attending a Kid Rock concert. We also would like to take some time out to take the kids to an amusement park. We’ll see how it all goes together.
