Day 43

lindamiibodyToday was Day 43 for me and Wii Fit. We have passed our one month anniversary, and today, the Wii Fit gave me a shiny silver fit/pig bank because I reached the 20 hours of exercising mark.

Yay me and silver pig fit bank! Er, maybe that should be Yay Mii!

June has not been a good exercise month for me. I have only 5 stamps on the month of June, and today is June 10th. It means I am doing 50/50, which is much less than I’ve done in the past. I need to get to logging in everyday, but it just seems that my days are getting busy. Plus, June seems to be a month I should just give up on because 1) I am going to a conference next week and will miss four days of Wii Fit, and 2) I am going on vacation at the end of the month and will miss several more days of Wii Fit.

Still, even though I will not be exercising regularly using the Wii Fit, I WILL be exercising. And I think this is the greatest thing about my Wii Fit. It has made me motivated. It has been 43 days, and I’ve accumulated 20 hours of Wii Fit exercise. This does not include additional outside of Wii Fit exercise.

What’s that? Why yes, yes I do exercise outside of Wii Fit, and I have not been logging those additional hours. Why it was just Monday that I started to do the couch to 5K podcast exercise except — technically — it isn’t couch to 5K because that program costs $19.95, and I went with the free version from Podcast Intervals.

And may I just say, my legs have noticed that I have started to (shudder) run. As have muscles in my back and arms and feet….

But it is all good.

AND I found my missing tennis shoe AND after much search, I found an MP3 player that belongs to me, so I can download my podcast interval workout and take it with me to the conference (I’ll be sleeping in college dorms) and vacation. It is all good.

We still haven’t found Steve’s iPod, which is practically brand new and should be somewhere in this house. You would think.

My daughter just asked, “How is it practically brand new?” And the answer is because in the 2 plus years we have owned it, it probably has only been listened to for less than 48 hours. It has less play time than her new Zune.

And so today, when I exercised on the Wii Fit I did the palm tree, the twists, I tried the Lotus tree and failed. Again. I did advanced step two or three times, and I did expert rhythm boxing. I did some other things too, I believe, but I don’t remember, and I can’t check because my daughter Amanda is using the Wii Fit right now.

I have to work from 11 to 3 p.m. today, but after that I will get my podcast interval run in before I have to go to the kid’s Little League game tonight.

And no matter what that stupid scale says, I am healthier than what I was 43 days ago.
