Linda Sherwood is a nonfiction writer. Although she prefers writing feature articles, she has a strong background in hard news coverage. She worked as a journalist for more than 15 years writing about murders, school boards, garden tours, county government, sports and more.
For several years, Linda published a journalism web site aimed at assisting journalists at small-town newspapers, SmallTownPress. Many of the journalism articles available elsewhere on this site had originally appeared in SmallTownPress. Although aimed primarily at the small-town journalist, these articles are also helpful to freelance writers.
Linda Sherwood began freelance writing in 1999. Her freelance work has appeared in a variety of publications both in print and online in three countries. She has also done public relations works for a variety of businesses.
In addition to working as a freelance writer and journalist, Linda taught journalism at a community college.
Linda currently teaches English at Ferris State University and is writing a nonfiction memoir.
She is currently writing a memoir, Fat Man’s Daughter.
