Welcome to my house, please excuse the overpowering smell of cat litter and if you feel something crawling on you, don’t worry about it, it’s just the ants. Yeah, we’re going to have to move.
OK, maybe it isn’t that bad.
The ant thing, I’ve been battling all summer, and I just don’t get it. We do NOT have ants in the kitchen, which is where I would think I would find them. No, we have ants in the living room and Justin’s bedroom and once in a while in my bedroom. Mostly the living room around one particular table. And yes, I’ve checked the table, and I’m not seeing anything that attracts ants. The other day there was about 20 of them gathered under an 8×11 sheet of paper. Paper! Maybe these are paper eating ants, in which case, we are doomed. There is plenty of paper around this table. In a couple of weeks we are going camping, and when we go, we are going to bomb the house. Well, not really bomb it. We’re going to bug bomb it. That will help. In the meantime, we are using those ant traps. So, the ants days are numbered.
Now for the cat litter smell. Last night, Steve did a minor repair in the vicinity of our cat litter box. The repair involved water pipes and during the repair, some water ended up on the floor. And it apparently found some traces of cat litter that had been on the floor and the water released the smell. It was really bad.
Today, I got down on my hands and knees with a pail of bleach water and washed the floor. It seems to have taken care of the smell, but frankly my nose is overloaded. I’m going to wait a while and then check it. Let’s hope it works. Otherwise, we’re moving.
Thanks for playing.
