I love my laptop. It is an Acer Aspire 3610 with a 15.4 inch screen. I even went for the upgraded screen because I do a lot of photo editing and design.
I have now had my computer for over a year now (about 1 year 2 months actually).
I really like it because the keyboard is wider than a regular laptop keyboard, so it is comfortable to type on. I do a lot of typing, so that is important.
In fact, I’ve used my laptop so much that you can see my palm prints permanently on the space under the keyboard (which is also very roomy). And you can tell where my fingers press against the keyboard, although most of my letters are still there because unlike Shelley, I apparently don’t press down on the actual letter part of my buttons. I apparently type just below most of my letters. Although the button for the n key is in sad shape. I have actually worn grooved lines into my n key button, so I must hit it with my fingernail or something.
But the reason why I am blogging about my laptop is because it is time for me to buy some replacement parts. I could use a new battery because the one I have isn’t holding its charge as long as it used to, but I am going to put off buying that. It still holds a charge for over an hour, and that is pretty good.
I did, however, just invest in a new AC adapter cord. The one I have broke. It still works, but the silver wire is exposed right where the cord is thick to prevent it from doing that. I suspect it is because of all the transporting I do, folding the cord in the same way each time. Steve temporarily fixed it for me by wrapping it in electrical tape, but I’ve noticed some of those tiny silver metal pieces are starting to break too. And it may be that my battery will charge better with the new cord.
So I went to ebay and found a good deal from a reputable seller. Just over $30 later and my new cord should be on its way to me soon. Whew. I was worried my cord would break, and without a way to recharge the battery, I’d be computerless for a while. OK, I wouldn’t be computerless considering we own three desktops and three laptops, but I’d be without my laptop. And frankly, I lurve my laptop. It is mine, just mine, and it has my palm prints permanently worn into it to prove it.
