Harry Potter

I finished the latest book in the Harry Potters series yesterday. It took me a bit longer because of our plans last weekend, and then I have to share the book with my daughter.

Sharing a book is not a fun thing.

First of all, I wasn’t going to share. I forked over the money ($25.44 from my local bookstore), and it was MINE, all MINE. But I finally decided she could read it too, but I had priority. So when she went to bed Monday night, she couldn’t take it with her because I was reading it.

Very odd, that.  I don’t like sharing a book I want to read, but it was a big deal to her too, so I let her. And luckily she didn’t do the thing that I absolutely hate, which is take the cover off the book and just leave it lying around.

Now I am anxious to read the next one. I wish it was done NOW. This is why I don’t like sequels, and I rarely get caught up in them. After finishing the 6th book yesterday, I spent some time with the 5th book. There were some characters that I’d forgotten about and I wanted to be reminded of them.

Well, the editor’s still on vacation so I better get to work. Toodles.

Let’s just hope she doesn’t wait as long as Stephen King did to finish his tower series…..
2 years isn’t that long to wait in the grand scheme of things….( i keep telling myself this and sooner or later i WILL believe it!)

I had the same problem with Jay, I preordered the book back in February. It came Saturday, but I finished it on Sunday. I had to stand behind the car to stop Jay rom taking the book to work with him Sunday afternoon. Everytime he turned around I had to tell him to stop reading my book because I wasn’t going to argue with him when I wanted to read the book. I also can’t wait for the last installment of the series but on the other hand I don’t want the series to end I want to know what happens to Harry when he grows up.

Linda, does someone important die? And who is the half blood prince? Does Harry really get kicked off the Quidich team, or is that from an earlier book. Just email me the answers so we don’t piss anyone off, that is if you will. Yes I’m reading it and yes I’ll find out that way I suppose, but the suspence is KILLING me. do you want to be responsible for that? Hope all is well with you! Karyn

  5. Karyn, you are so asking the wrong person!

I was just ranting the other day because one of Autumn’s friends is also reading the book, and she flipped ahead and then despite Autumn telling her not to, she revealed a pretty big plot point. Which just totally ticked me off, because Autumn is still reading it.

Is it no surprise that this is the same girl who told my child that there is no Santa Claus?

But it’s good to know you’re reading it. Now I can torture you like I do Autumn.

Imagine a really irritating voice, and it’s saying, “I know who the half-blood prince is and you don’t. Nanananannah nah.” And you’re not going to guess either. Ha! You just have to read it.

When I bought the book, the cashier kept talking about it, and she told me not to read the last page. So it was the first thing my husband read. He didn’t get anything out of it. Silly boy. You won’t unless you read the whole thing.

Plot points are there for a reason. You can’t jump ahead on a rollercoaster. Just curl up, shut off the phone and make the kids feed themselves. :)
