Amanda the Talented

Amanda the Talented

Amanda, I’m sorry to report, must have a natural tendency toward obsessions. In addition to her heart breaking every time the stupid dog *thinks* about going outside, she has another addiction that is driving her parents insane.

Personally, I think that’s her plan.

She’s burping. On purpose. Loudly. She even does the alphabet. Burping. Loud belches on command.

And she’s doing it to answer to you. She thinks it is funny. And it was about three weeks ago when all four kids and dad were trying to burp the alphabet. But the other three kids and dad quit burping.

Amanda continues.

And she seems to always do it when I’m just watching her, silently amazed by how tall she’s getting. How long her hair is. Then she belches and just ruins it.

She’s also getting a little over the top with sticking her tongue out at me. OK, this one I am probably encouraging because I’ve been sticking my tongue out at her too.

Like the other day, I was lying on my bed watching a movie and the stupid dog was on my lap. We were content. And Amanda came in looking for stupid dog. I ordered her out. Shut the door. She shuts it most of the way, leaving a crack. And sits on the other side of the door making whistling noises.

I grab stupid dog and pet furiously. I yell at her to shut the door. She whistles. Stupid dog is off and running to the door, she opens it and he is off in the hallway.

And before Amanda goes chasing after stupid dog, she stands in my bedroom doorway, her hips wiggling back and forth and her tongue clearly out as she mocked me.

And its times like these that I wish I could burp. On command. Instead all I could do was stick my tongue out. Maybe next time I’ll try, "Go clean your room." But still, I think the burp would have been more effective.

Thanks for playing.
